I know it can be a big step to reach out to a therapist, and I want to make the process as comfortable as possible. It's important to me that my clients see therapy as their time and that they feel safe and empowered to bring anything to the table. I see it as a privilege to be able to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life's challenges. We all have our "stuff" and I am continually amazed at my clients' bravery in being willing to dig into it and find new ways of relating to themselves and the world around them.

If you're ready to "dig in" yourself, let's set up a free 20 minute discovery call to see if we would be a good fit to work together. You can ask me questions about what I do (and don't do) and tell me a little bit about yourself and what you hope to gain from therapy. If you decide to move forward from there, we would schedule an initial session to help me gain a broader understanding of your history and to establish some treatment goals.

Beyond that, the trajectory of our work together is really up to you. I hope to serve as a guide and sounding board, offering space for you to explore, as well as tools and suggestions to help you reach your goals.

MY AREAS OF SPECIALTY

I have a master’s degree in counseling psychology and am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I’m passionate about working with clients who want to break the dieting cycle, learn to feel “normal” around food and heal from negative body image. I’m especially interested in embodiment and mindfulness practices to help individuals tune into their bodies and the present moment. I'm also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), which is a systematic therapeutic technique that has been found to be highly effective in the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

HOW I SPEND MY FREE TIME

When I’m not working with clients on building lives they love, you can find me spending time with my husband and our four young boys. As you might imagine, they keep me pretty busy! As a family we enjoy walking and biking, playing board games, and trying different donut shops around the Twin Cities. When I get a little “me time” I enjoy practicing yoga, strength training, reading, and catching up with friends over coffee.
